Delta’s Harris to speak at Heritage men’s breakfast Sat.Tue, 07/08/2008 - 2:18pm

Heritage Christian Church of Fayetteville/Peachtree City will host a men’s breakfast this Saturday, July 12, at 8 a.m. featuring former Delta and World Airways executive Hollis Harris as guest speaker. Harris, a native of Carrollton, was named president and a member of Delta’s Board of Directors in 1987. In 1990, he joined Continental Airlines as chairman, president, and CEO, resigned in September 1991, and became chairman, president and CEO of Air Canada in 1992. The following year, he and the Air Partners Group brought Continental out of bankruptcy. In 1994, Harris was named the “Number One CEO” by Financial Times of Canada. He was appointed chairman, president and CEO of World Airways, Inc. in 1999. He moved the headquarters to Peachtree City and led the restructuring team in providing several straight quarters of profitability before he retired in May of 2004. He has served as a board member of many organizations and was enshrined into the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame in April 2005. Heritage is at the corner of Bernhard Road and Peachtree Parkway and hosts a monthly men’s breakfast on the second Saturday of each month.Men of all denominations are invited.
