Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shuplock of Brea, Calif. announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Michelle, to Daniel Michael Carroll, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth P. Carroll of Fayetteville.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lucille Wollenschlaeger and the late Gerald Wollenschlaeger of Pittsburgh, Pa. and the late Nancy and Joseph Shuplock also of Pittsburgh.She is a 1998 graduate of Brea Olinda High School and received a bachelor of science degree in management science and information systems and international business from Pennsylvania State University. She currently is employed by Crown Asset Management in Duluth, Ga. as a director of national litigation management.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Black of Vero Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Leone Carroll and the late Neal Carroll of Pittsburgh, Pa. He is a 1994 graduate of Sandy Creek High School and received a bachelor of business administration degree in information technology from Clayton State College and University. He currently is employed by Georgia Pacific in Atlanta as a database administrator.

A wedding is planned for Aug. 30, 2008, in Yorba Linda, Calif. in the Rose Garden at The Richard Nixon Library with a reception to follow in the ballroom. After the wedding the couple will reside in Mableton.
