Over the weekend of Jan. 7-8, the competitive teams at Gym City Gymnastics in Peachtree City traveled to Tucker Recreation for a gymnastics meet. On Saturday, the compulsory Level 4 and 5 competitors did an awesome job, with the Level 4 team taking home the first place team trophy.

One very exciting moment during the competition on Saturday was Emily Murphy’s vault score of a 10.00. Practically unheard of in compulsory routines, Murphy was extremely excited when that scored flashed on the scoreboard.

On Sunday Gym City’s optional team girls ranging from Level 7-9 competed in their first competition of the season. Highlights of this day included Chloe Deitrich’s floor routine when she performed and stuck her first double back for the first time in a competition.

• Olivia Phillips- second in Vault

Jr B Age group
• Janice Johnson- first in All-Around (AA) and beam, second in floor and vault, third in bars
• Dia Martin- first in bars, second in AA & beam, fourth on vault
• Ashley Thwaites- third on beam and vault, fourth in AA and floor
• Alexis Downing- first on beam, fourth in floor

Sr A Age group
• Emily Murphy- first in AA and vault, second in bars and floor, third on beam
• Jessica Perry- third in floor, vault, bars and AA
• Gina Palermo- first in beam, floor and bars and second in AA
• Katie Buck- fourth in AA

Sr B Age group
• Elly Clayton- first in AA, beam, floor and vault and second on bars
• Natalie Romanow- second in floor and third on beam

Level 5: Jr. B age group
• Abby Birrell- second in AA and bars, third in floor and vault
• Charlotte Myers- first on vault, second on beam and third in AA and bars
• Lauren Wilson- third on beam
• Milynn Moore- second on floor
