Donald Charles "Chad" Clifton, 33, Fayetteville, died June 25, 2008 at the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was born Nov. 27, 1974 in Newnan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Sarah Clifton, and Blake Armstrong. He grew up in Newnan and was a member of the Newnan First Baptist Church. He was a 1993 graduate of Newnan High School, and a member of its 1991 State Championship baseball team. He was graduated from LaGrange College in 1997, where he played on the baseball team. He was an avid WERA motorcycle racer, a control rider, and a Yamaha enthusiast. Services were at the Newnan First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Emeott and the Rev. Jimmy Patterson officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his parents, Don and Brenda Clifton, Newnan; a brother, Rusty and Clare Clifton, Athens; a sister, Sally Clifton, Jacksonville, Ga.; a nephew, Russell Clark Clifton; a niece, Sarah Paige Clifton; grandmother, Louise Smith, Marietta; uncles, Russell and Sandra Clifton, Gainesville, Fla., Steve and Molly Clifton, Evans, Ga., and Tommy Armstrong, Atlanta; an aunt, Nancy Stephens, Kennesaw; and special family, Don, Linda, Andrea, and Taylor Campbell, all of Fayetteville.
