David Porter Akeman, 54, Fayetteville, died June 24, 2008. He was born in Marshall, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Akeman. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Wally Woodcock officiating. Survivors include his wife, Jayne M. Akeman, Fayetteville; sons, Christopher D. Akeman, Benjamin G. Akeman, and Joshua J. Akeman, all of Fayetteville; a daughter, Emily E. Akeman, Alpharetta; father, John and Barbra Akeman, Slater, Mo.; and a sister, Susan and Steve Guarina, Hemet, Calif. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
