Herbert E. Register, 77, Fayetteville, died June 23, 2008, after battling lung cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemma and Edna Register, and a brother, Lonnie Register. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War with deployment overseas to Okinawa, Japan, Korea, and Guam. He retired from military service with 20 years of service and then worked for Delta Air Lines for the next 20 years. He enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his family and fishing. He was a member of Landrum Lodge in Savannah. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Chaplain Robin Strong officiating. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Amelia Hannigan Register, Fayetteville; sons, Lemma E and Teresa Register, Will and Mary Register, and Herbert and Jody Register Jr., Wiscasset, Maine; daughters, Teresa and Roland Ivey, and Marti and Pete Asci, Senoia; grandchildren, Holly and Jeff Longino, Hal Davis, Chris Ivey, Charlie Ivey, Chelsea Register, Marisa Register, Trevor Register, Caleb Register, and Lucas Register. great-grandsons, Addison and Asa Longino; brothers, Huie Register, and Jimmy and Bonnie Register, all of Florida, and nephew, Jim Register, Florida. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
