First Baptist Church of Peachtree City will participate in the city’s Fourth of July celebration with a float entry in the city’s parade, a barbecue and a drawing for free gifts.

This year, the float will showcase the new Bridge Community Center. Scheduled to open the first weekend of October 2008, this 23,000 square foot facility will provide arcade areas, a gymnasium with walking track, health and civic activities, Upward basketball, and many other services to the community.

The FBC barbecue, served with Southern barbecue sauce, begins at 7 p.m. First Baptist members provide home-cooked desserts and a variety of side dishes.

The church is on Willowbend Road just off Ga. Hwy. 54.
