Peachtree City residential property owners, as individuals or members of a group or organization, can earn a 25% credit toward their April 2009 stormwater utility fee by participating in the Peachtree City’s “Adopt-A-Mile, -Path or -Park” programs.

There are twenty-six park areas and six tot lots for adoption with the Parks & Recreation Department. There are also several roads/streets and 87 + miles of cart path for adoption with Public Works Department. The programs were designed to reduce litter in public areas and the stream pollution caused by litter.

Program volunteers will be expected to remove litter or debris once a month at the location for which they signed up. Once an individual has completed at least eight hours of litter collection and removal during a 12-month period they may apply for the 25% credit toward the annual fee. They can fill out the Residential Stormwater Fee Credit Application due by March 1 each year.

Applications for all programs are available on line at www.ptcrecreation.org and www.peachtree-city.org , the Public Works Department or the Recreation Administration Building.

There are two steps (applications) to be completed to be eligible for the credit.

• 1.) The applications for Adopt-A-Mile and Adopt-A-Path will need to be filled out and submitted to Public Works.  The applications for the Adopt-A-Park will need to be filled out and submitted to the Parks and Recreation Department.  Once submitted you will be placed on a verification list. You will remain on the list until you have requested to withdraw from the program.

• 2.) The Residential Stormwater Fee Credit application needs to be filled out annually and submitted to Peachtree City Stormwater Utility. This form will be compared against the Public Works and Parks and Recreation verification list for confirmation of eligibility of the annual Stormwater credit. The form must be received by the Stormwater Utility Accounting Specialist prior to March 1 of every year.

For your convenience there are two Stormwater Utility drop boxes.  One is located at the front entrance to City Hall.  The second drop box is located at the rear lower level of City Hall’s entrance to Developmental Services. You may also mail the Stormwater credit form annually to Stormwater Utility, P.O. Box 2959, Peachtree City, 30269
