4-H Adventure Camp is set for July 7

Looking for an adventure of a lifetime? All students going into third through eighth grades are invited to attend the Coweta 4-H Adventure Camp, July 7-11, at the Coweta County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall on Pine Road. the camp will be a journey of the animal kingdom on a quest to discover the animal world as the expedition takes participants over the land through forests and streams.

All participants will begin their journey exploring a variety of farm animals as well as some unusual animals – including a snake or two! On the quest, campers will discover where the animals live and how to protect these lovely creatures. The quest will lead to an understanding about what these animals and plants offer to the world. For example did you know batteries, crayons, and makeup all include corn? On Friday we’ll set a course for Dixieland Amusement Park in Fayetteville for a fun-filled day in the sun.

The campers will create items that can be entered in the Coweta County Fair on September 18-27. The week will include numerous hands on activities taught by Extension Staff, special guests and 4-H’ers.

Activities begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Adults are welcome to stay with their children or may drop them off beginning at 8 am. Registration is $75 each while discounts are available for additional family members. Each day you will need to bring a sack lunch and drink; snacks will be provided as part of the program.

Please visit www.ugaextension.com/Coweta for the registration form or contact us at 770-254-2620 for more information regarding Summer Adventure Camp and other 4-H programs.
