The SouthSide Pioneers competed at the 2008 AAU Region 3B Championship meet held at Our Lady of Mercy last weekend. All first through fourth place winners have advanced to the 2008 AAU National Championship that will be held July 27- August 1 at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

2008 Region Champion, Carl Eifert, 3,000M (9:47.41) Eifert also advanced in the Steeplechase.

2nd Place Medalists: Haley Young (Youth Girls High Jump, 4’8”); Brandon Collins (Inermediate Boys 100M 11.02); Graylin Ward (Intermediate Boys High Jump (.187m); Dairus Harris (Young Men High Jump (1.92m);: 4x100M Relay (Young Men): Daiyaan Epps, Johnathan Ross, Carl McGill and Hughston Taylor (44:03)

4th Place Finishers: Alyssa Rooks (Intermediate Girls Javelin Throw, 18.04m); Young Men’s 4x400M Relay: Darius Harris, David Mathis, Jonathan Owens and Vince Brown (3:28)
