American Legion Fayette County Post 105 annually honors the outstanding members of the community law enforcement and emergency services with their 2008 Public Safety Awards. This year's award recipients are Lt. Dean Johnson, Tyrone Police Department; Lt. Scott Gibson, Fayetteville Police Department; Cpl. Robert Todd, Peachtree City Police Department; paramedic Norman Gibby, Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services Department; Sgt. Kevin Baggett, Peachtree City Fire Department; Lt. Mike Matthews, Fayetteville Fire Department; deputy Thomas Gillespie, Fayette County Marshal's Office; and Capt. H.L. Meyer, Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
