With the 328th pick overall, Sandy Creek graduate Blake Brewer was selected by the Florida Marlins. Brewer is a right handed pitcher. His brother, Brent, was drafted several years ago by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Brooks' Blake Nation, a Starr's Mill graduate and current relief pitcher for Georgia Southern University, was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 672nd pick overall.

Brandon Miller, a Woodward Academy graduate from Tyrone headed to Georgia Tech this fall, was selected by the Boston Red Sox with the 1,012nd pick. Miller is a catcher.
