Several assistant principals approved by Board of Education at called Mon. meeting

The Coweta County Board of Education approved several assistant principal positions at a 6:30 p.m. called meeting on June 2, held at the Centre for Performing and Visual Arts.

Denise Norred was approved to be the assistant principal for East Coweta High School. Norred is currently an assistant principal at East Coweta Middle School.

Eric Fiske was approved to be an assistant principal at Northgate High School. Fiske is currently an assistant principal at Poplar Road Elementary School.

Yovandra Matthews was approved to be an assistant principal at East Coweta Middle School. Matthews is currently a 6th grade teacher at East Coweta Middle.

Herbert Betts was approved to be an assistant principal at Madras Middle School. Betts is currently a music teacher at Thomas Crossroads Elementary School.

Lisa Skinner was approved to be an assistant principal at Grantville Elementary School. Skinner is currently a graduation coach at Evans Middle School.

Latrina Gates was approved to be an assistant principal at Arbor Springs Elementary School. Gates currently teaches fifth grade at Grantville Elementary School.

Stephanie Herring was approved to be an assistant principal at Northgate High School. Herring was a former assistant principal at Eastside Elementary School.

The Board approved the new positions on the recommendation of Superintendent Blake Bass. The new positions will become effective on July 1, 2008.

**All vacant school principal positions due to retirement or new positions have been filled earlier for the 2008-09 school year. The board anticipates filling other vacant assistant principal positions before the start of the new school year
