Twilight Theatre will launch their latest production this weekend at the Charles Wadsworth Auditorium in Newnan.

“Into the Woods” is directed by Robbie Kirkland, with music directed by Alison Chambers. Performances will be at 8 p.m. on June 6, 7 and 13 and at 2:30 p.m. on June 8 and 15.

With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, “Into the Woods” is an engaging, thought-provoking story of what happens after "happily ever after." The musical features the witty score by Sondheim, sung by such popular characters as Little Red Riding Hood (Paige McCauley); Rapunzel (Anna Kate Spears); Cinderella (Stephanie Earle); and the character no good story can be without, the Witch, played by Amy Beaucham. The cast is rounded out by Cinderella's Mother (Pauli Reep); Jack (Chase Thomaston); Jack's Mother (Dotti Ramsdell); Cinderella's Prince (Michael Reep); Rapunzel's Prince (Alex Couch); the Baker (Robbie Kirkland); the Baker's Wife (Alison Chambers); Cinderella's Stepmother (Courtney Geibler); Cinderella's Stepsisters Florinda and Lucinda (April Coyne and Hannah Herndon); the Wolf (Ben Papac); the Giant (Angela Papac); Sleeping Beauty (Melissa Manson); and Snow White (Rachel Denny). The story is moved along by the Narrator and Mysterious Man, both played by Frankie Asher.

It's music that will keep your toes tapping; it's a story that will get your brain thinking.

The Charles Wadsworth Auditorium bears the name of world-renown pianist and Newnan native Charles Wadsworth who, as a child, performed in student recitals at the auditorium. Wadsworth went on to be director of the Chamber Music Program in New York City and has coordinated chamber music performances at Spoleto and Callaway Gardens. During the auditorium's recent renovation, great attention was paid to the acoustics. Rein Pirn, who designed the acoustics for Spivey Hall, developed the acoustical plan for Wadsworth Auditorium. It is located at 25 Jefferson Street in Newnan.
