The SouthSide Pioneers track team competed at the 2008 Mark Trail Invitational held at Landmark Christian School May 24-25 to kick-off its 2008 summer track season.

Morgan Wright took fifth place in the young women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.87 and Daiyaan Epps took second place in the young men's long jump with a jump of 19’2”. Brandon Collins took third place in the intermediate boys' 100 meter dash with a time of10.92 Collins is competing this summer for eligibility for selection onto the World Youth Track and Field Team slated to compete in Italy in 2009.

The team will begin its Junior Olympics competitions with the AAU Junior Olympics competition at Our Lady of Mercy High School, June 5-8.
