Former MLB player to speak at Heritage

Heritage Christian Church of Fayetteville/Peachtree City will host a Men’s Breakfast Saturday June 14, at 8 a.m., featuring former MLB player Scott Fletcher as guest speaker.

Fletcher, who resides in Fayetteville, broke into the major leagues with the Chicago Cubs April 25, 1981. He has 15 years of major league experience as a middle infielder, playing with the Cubs, White Sox, Rangers, Red Sox, Tigers, and Brewers.

In 1986 he was named American League Player of the month for July. He batted .300 for the season, and led the Rangers with 34 doubles.
In 1988 he led the Texas Rangers in hitting for the third consecutive year, and in 1990 he led American League second basemen in double plays, turning 115. He collected his 1,000 career hit in 1991. After his playing career in 1995 he was an instructor and manager in the Tampa Bay Rays organization.

Since retiring, he now runs Fletcher Baseball and is co-founder and development consultant of RightView Pro Software.
Fletcher will speak on his experiences throughout his life and playing career.
Heritage Christian Church hosts a monthly men’s breakfast on the second Saturday of each month throughout the year.
