Footage from a security camera, and a sharp memory, helped nab two Fayette men accused of burglarizing Earnest Meat Market on Tyrone Road before 9 p.m. Monday night, deputies said.

The burglars got away with $3,200 in cash, but not for long. The store’s owner recognized a vehicle seen in the video, and about four hours later the two suspects were arrested.

Jonathan Charles Vaughn, 29, of Fayetteville and Terence Eugene Smithers, 42, of Tyrone were both charged with one count of burglary, officials said.

Det. Ethon Harper worked the case for the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Earnest Meat Market is located on Tyrone Road near Flat Creek Trail.
