Why all the illegal students while trailers abound?

When I read the recent letter regarding students attending our schools who do not live in this county I became outraged. The letter writer’s observation probably just scratched the surface of what is going on. How can the schools allow this to happen?

We have students in trailers and are building new schools to house all these students. If we remove the ones who do not belong here, maybe the overcrowding would be eased. Why should the taxpayers in this county pay for out-of-county students? They are bringing down our test scores, too.

With the tax money we save we could hire additional personnel to police this situation. My understanding is that it costs over $8,200 per year to educate a child in Fayette County. Just do the math. We are being robbed.
