National Heights Baptist Church will begin an eight-week study of Baptist history and heritage on Wednesday, June 4, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Led by Dr. Steve deClaissé-Walford, pastor, the study will trace the development of Baptist identity beginning with Martin Luther’s “Protestantism.”

Participants will discover how being Baptist was a response to Puritanism, where the first Baptist church was founded, who founded it, and how it expanded around the world.

The basic principles of Baptist identity and the emergence and separation of various Baptist traditions — Southern, American, Freewill, Primitive, and Cooperative will be explored.

The public is invited to participate.

National Heights is between Peachtree City and Fayetteville on Ga. Highway 54 about one-half mile East of Fayette-Piedmont Hospital.
