New academy in Fayetteville trains athletes in all sports

Students who are looking for a shot at the pros, scholarship opportunities, a healthier lifestyle or success in their sport can reach their goals at the Oscar Dillard All Sports Academy. Not your sister’s boring basketball camp or a week at brother Billy’s summer football ritual this is continuous training for young athletes in any sport who want to get that added edge. The Oscar Dillard All Sports Academy has year round clinics slated to begin Jan. 22 for kids ages 7 – 18 at the Soccer Centre, 215 Robinson Drive in Fayetteville.

Director/Founder and head coach of the Oscar Dillard All Sports Academy, Dillard doesn’t just take athletes to the next level but gives them the tools to champion a great future through sports. Mentored by legendary coach Bobby Bowden and an active participant at the Coaches Leadership Conference under the direction of Jimmy Johnson of the NFL, Oscar has worked earnestly for his credentials. The Atlanta native is a graduate from Morehouse College with a degree in Health and Physical Education. A proven motivator with an eye for talent Dillard boasts of over 50 students that have obtained scholarships to attend Division I and II colleges and universities. His commitment to youth has allowed him to help many well-known players make a successful transition to the professional ranks including Tennessee Titans Adam “Pac-Man” Jones who attended Westlake High School, Douglass High School great, Jamal Lewis now with the Baltimore Ravens and Keith Adams of the 2005 NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles just to name a few.

At the Oscar Dillard All Sports Academy the focus is on speed, conditioning and mastering the fundamentals. All essential elements to any game played. Dillard has assembled a world-class professional staff to handle the responsibilities including Olympic Track & Field Coach, Wendy Truvillion. The LSU graduate is a six time NCAA All American and two-time NCAA Champion with domestic and international experience as an athlete and coach. Certified nutrition and fitness expert, LaDarren Tyler is also on staff. A drug free competitor, Tyler is an NOPI Nationals World Bodybuilding Championship and Pro-Am World Cup Champion. Veteran trainer Wylie J. Lilly adds multi-sport experience to the team. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Recreation Administration, Lilly is a Certified Personal Trainer who is an excellent motivator and tenured instructor in physical education on the elementary and high school levels.
