Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School’s Catharina Palmer signed a soccer scholarship Wednesday with Spring Hill College in Alabama. Appearing in the picture with Palmer are (back row, left to right) Our Lady of Mercy’s athletic director Bill Schmitz, Our Lady of Mercy’s head girls’ soccer coach Brian Williams, Our Lady of Mercy’s principal Danny Dorsel and (front row left to right) Palmer’s mother and father, Rosemarie and Douglas Palmer. Adam Pearce, head soccer coach at Spring Hill College was quoted in the Mobile Press-Register, saying “I am very excited to have Catie joining the program. She has an infectiously friendly personality, but when she gets on the field she has the killer instinct and attitude of a true goal scorer.”
