Fayette Presbyterian Church will host an organ recital by distinguished artist Sue Goddard (AAGO) Saturday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The concert will include works by Bach (Prelude and Fugue in G), Mendelssohn (Sonata VI - 1st and 3rd movements), William Russell (Suite in C), and Nicolas-Jacques Lemmens (Fanfare). Selections by Andrew Carter, A. Hollins, and Dan Miller also will be performed.

Goddard has been organist-music associate of Grace United Methodist Church in Atlanta since 1956. In addition, she has served as accompanist for the Georgia Tech Chorale for 25 years, and the Hinshaw Music Publishing Company’s “Celebration” workshop for 15 years. She also has been accompanist for The Colson Chorale, The Choral Guild of Atlanta, and music conferences at both Montreat and Lake Junaleska.

She is a longtime member of the Atlanta chapter of The American Guild of Organists, where she has held many offices, including dean and, currently, exam coordinator.

In 1956 Goddard earned the Certificate of Associateship (AAGO) as one of the youngest musicians to pass the exam.

The Sue Goddard organ concert is the second event in a concert series hosted by Fayette Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. The two remaining performances in the series will be The Spivey Hall Children’s Choir (March 25), and Sacra Musica String Quartet (May 6).

Fayette Presbyterian Church is at 791 Forest Ave. (Ga. Hwy. 92 N.), Fayetteville.

Tickets for the Jan. 21 Goddard concert are $5 for students, $10 for adults (in advance), $12 for adults (at the door), and $25 for a series ticket to all three remaining events.
