The Landmark War Eagle baseball team weathered the weather on Tuesday night and handed Lanier County two losses to advance to the Class A semi-finals. Landmark won the first game 16-6 and then defeated the Bulldogs 11-4 after a rain/inclement weather delay that lasted over two hours.

The Landmark bats are red hot right now and everyone is swinging well, from senior Luke Griffith (a grand slam in the second game) to junior Tanner Bryant and the sophomore Wren brothers, among many others. In five of Landmark’s six state playoff wins, the War Eagles have scored in the double digits and four of their wins have been by double digit margins.

Landmark will now take on Brookstone on Memorial Day at home. Brookstone swept Gordon Lee 4-2 and 15-3.

Look for more stats from Tuesday’s game and a preview of these games later this week.
