I spoke with [Peachtree City] Mayor Harold Logsdon and [Fayetteville] Mayor Ken Steele today, as well as Councilman Larry Dell.

I informed all of them that the news article and Linda Wells’ letter to the paper were false. I told all of them that it was not a “proposal,” but a response to a request to update the commission on what other counties were doing with regards to collecting city taxes.

I assured all of them that there was no initiative, on the part of the county commission or myself, to pursue compensation for anyone for collecting city taxes, that it was simply an explanation of the kinds of arrangements that some cities and counties have made.

I previously had forwarded an email to the council members of Peachtree City with virtually the same information.

It’s clearly obvious to me that the enemy will seize every opportunity to spin anything they can to their advantage. Let’s work together to put these three amigos, along with bloviating Bost, out of Fayette County government for good.
