Andrea Michelle Marine and Ashley Nicole Marine, of Peachtree City, Ga., were among those receiving diplomas at Newberry College’s May commencement. The commencement address was delivered by the governor of South Carolina, Mark C. Sanford. President Mitchell M. Zais and Academic Dean Dr. Wayne Kannaday, conferred the degrees, which included the ceremonial hooding of the candidates, a long-standing tradition at Newberry College commencements. Andrea earned a bachelor of arts in psychology and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Ashley earned a bachelor of science in biology and graduated Cum Laude.
