"Cut me some slack"
Cut me some slack, Jack---an old song and saying of a few years back. Generally meant to ask for tolerance by someone who just wants to do and live like they want to without interference.
I sense this same attitude with our public schools in many places these days. Not only by some students but worse yet, by many parents and administrators.
They simply want to get the kids through at least high school whether they pass the subjects or not. They don't pass of course because they haven't been made to do so since preschool! No additional home studying with parental inclusion, no special schools additional, no family (extended) interference to help, no nothing!
Is it because the parents and extended families are not capable, or that they simply find the students lost from any correction since they were one year of age?
It is like a Momma Bat teaching her young to fly and avoid pit-falls or buildings when they are as blind as a bat...oops maybe as a cave fish! Maybe she just lets them hit things until they learn..I've noticed some families do that with their kids! "They have to learn," they say.
Experiments have shown that kids raised in a structured atmosphere by qualified parents and teachers fair much better than average.
Where do we get the qualified parents and teachers, and extended families to begin the process?
There seems to be NO INTEREST or hope by most.
