Rose show opens SaturdayWed, 05/14/2008 - 8:52am

The South Metro Rose Society will be holding its 23rd annual Rose Show on May 17 and 18 at Hood Avenue Elementary School in Fayetteville, Ga. Local rose growers are invited to enter their roses into competition. Members of the society will advise newcomers on entering their roses by calling the number below. Entries must be made at the show site between 7-10 a.m. on May 17 for judging. The show is free to the public from 1-4 p.m. on both days to view, smell, and photograph the exhibited roses. Rose bouquets will be sold and there will be an information table, where rose questions will be answered by certified Consulting Rosarians. Items to be raffled include a hand-crafted, octagonal birdfeeder, a gold-plated rose pin from R.S. Mann Jewelers and a newly introduced Mini-Flora rose with the products to care for it.
