William F. "Bill" Smith, 66, Fayetteville, died May 8, 2008. He was born Feb. 28, 1942 in Monroe County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robyn Ann Doyal Smith, and daughter-in-law, Meg Kibler Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile crisis. He was retired as a Senior Customer Service Agent at Delta Airlines with 30 years of service. He enjoyed community service through the Kiwanis and his church, and was an active coach in his son's sports and Cub Scouts. Services were at the Fayette Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John J. Skelly and the Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his son, William McBrayer Smith, Fayetteville; a grandson, Benjamin McBrayer Smith, Fayetteville; brothers, Bob Smith, Jacksonville, Fla., and Ronnie Smith, Harrisburg, Pa.; and sisters, Barbara Foster, and Susan Hewett, both of Forsyth. Memorial donations may be made to the Southern Crescent Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 2144, Peachtree City, GA 30269. Carl J.
