Mary Beth Johnston, 74, Peachtree City, died May 7, 2008. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Owen McRee and her parents. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment was at Bay Spring, Miss. Survivors include her husband, Melvin G. Johnston, Peachtree City; sons, Curry and Amber McRee, High Point, N.C., and Barry and Linda Jo McRee, McDonough; a daughter, Amy and David Baxter, Snellville; a stepson, Michael Johnson, Norfolk, Va.; a stepdaughter, Michelle Johnston, San Francisco, Calif.; grandchildren, Katie and Anna McRee, Greensboro, N.C., and Owen Richard and Noah Alexander McRee, McDonough; a step-grandchild, Angel Ann Johnston, Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother, I.N. and Adeline Welverton, Hattiesburg, Miss. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lymphoma Society. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
