Ward Floyd, 79, Fayetteville, died May 4, 2008. He was born June 30, 1928 in Lake Charles, La. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II and was retired from the Naval Oceanic Systems Center, San Diego, Calif. Services were at the Cremation Society of the South, Marietta, with interment at the Georgia National Cemetery, Cherokee County, Ga. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Cora A. Floyd; children, Ward Floyd Jr., Cheryell, Gretchen, Scotty, Christopher and Tina; two brothers; one sister; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Cremation Society of the South, Eagles Landing was in charge.
