It was a good night for a good cause. Partners Pizza in Tyrone did some partnering of their own May 7 with Tyrone Police to raise money for the Georgia Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. Seven police officers and the town court clerk volunteered as servers at the restaurant, earning $865.78 between 6-9 p.m.

“We had a blast,” said impromptu server and Tyrone Police spokesperson Alicia Batts. “We want to thank Partners and all the many customers that came to the restaurant to help us with our fundraising.”

The money raised during the three-hour period came primarily from tips, with a portion coming from the proceeds of dinner sales donated by Partners and from the sale of torch run caps, t-shirts and decals.
