Zada Scott has been named Newnan-Coweta Art Association’s City Hall “Artist of the Month.” A sampling of her work is on display at City Hall in Newnan.

“Street photography” is Scott’s passion. Her favorite subject changes from moment to moment depending on where she is or on just what is going on – a tree growing on the side of a mountain engulfed in clouds or two dogs just sitting in a car. She uses a traditional 35 mm film camera and says she enjoys the thrill along with the disappointment of what she has captured on film. Scott tries to exhibit a few times a year at art shows thanks to the encouragement of her family, friends, and fellow artists.

Scott has been in Georgia since 1991. She is married and has one daughter who is currently with the Peace Corps and plans to attend law school.

Zada Scott is a member of the Newnan-Coweta Art Association. NCAA meets the third Thursday each month, from September through May, at the Harriet Alexander Art Center on Hospital Road at 7 p.m. Visitors and new members are welcome. An art demonstration is presented each month.
