The moment has finally arrived for the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater to announce their series one line up for the 2006 season.
Kicking off April 28 and running through June 17, “The Fred” will host a variety of old favorites including one motown act, three 70’s rock groups and a classic 60’s vocal ensemble.
The weekend of April 28 and 29 the entertainment will commence with Eddie Money. The 70’s rock and roll icon will be heard singing hits like “Two Tickets To Paradise,” “Baby Hold On,” “Walk on Water,” “Think I’m In Love” and “Shakin’.” Eddie, who performs nearly 150 shows per year has said of his busy tour schedule, “My fans are the best, most loyal fans a guy could ask for. They keep coming back for more and I'm not gonna stop until they make me stop.”
Another 70’s classic returns to the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater this year. May 5 and 6 the famous Chicago-based prog-rock group, Styx, will return for the second year in a row, and are set to perform their classic hits “Come Sail Away,” “The Best of Times,” “Mr. Roboto," “Lady,” “Show Me The Way,” and their number one hit “Babe.”
After nearly 40 years together, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons are still going strong and are out to prove it on May 19 and 20 at “The Fred.” One of the most successful and long-lived white vocal groups of the 1960’s, the Four Seasons have sold over 100 million records because of songs like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Ain’t That a Shame,” “Marlena,” and “Candy.”
Crowds will be dancing their way out of “The Fred” after what can only be a stellar performance by The Temptations. Hailing from Detroit in the early 1960’s, The Temptations have seen a series of changing group line-ups. One thing never changes, however: the music is always great. Prepare to hear timeless hits like “My Girl,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “Too Proud To Beg,” and “Papa Was A Rolling Stone” on June 2 and 3 when The Temptations come to town.
Closing out the series one line-up June 16 and 17, Brit rockers Foreigner will grace the stage. The amphitheater will rock as Foreigner performs hits like “Head Games,” “Doublevision,” “Cold As Ice,” and “Juke Box Hero.”
