Charles R. Dillard, 79, Peachtree City, and Hiawassee, Ga., died Oct. 8. 2005. He was born Oct. 30, 1925 in Seneca, S. C., son of Marshall and Mattie Viola Sheriff Dillard. After the death of his parents, he spent his formative years with and uncle and aunt, Thad and Lessie Burns, Seneca. He was preceded in death by his former wife of 49 years, Clara Prater Dillard, and a brother, David Dillard. He was graduated from Seneca High School and from Clemson College following his service in the United States Air Force in World War II. He was a teacher at Abbeville High School, Abbeville, S. C., and employed by Ralston Purina for 30 years. He worked for Mom and Pops/Western Steer until retirement. Services were at Hepsibah Baptist Church, Seneca, S. C., with the Rev. Ernest Sisk and the Rev. Dr. Charles Wilson officiating. Interment was at Hepsibah Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Donna Price Dillard, and her children, W. T. Beauchamp III, Christopher Lee Beauchamp, Holly Beauchamp, and Ashley Langelier; daughters, Lynda Flowe and Charlene Pike; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one nephew; and three nieces. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Towns County, Ga. Higgins Hillcrest Chapel, Newnan, was in charge.
