Mildred Callaway, 73, Franklin, died April 8, 2008. She was born Sept. 22, 1930 in Heard County, the sixth oldest child. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Ben and Salley Kate Daniel, her husband, Eddie Callaway, whom she married July 23, 1948, one child at birth, Eddie Roy Callaway, brothers, Quincy Lee Daniel, the Rev. Clinton Daniel, Shelton Daniel, James Daniel, Alford Daniel, and a sister, Ora Lee Hodges. She had worked at The Bibb Company for 22 years before retiring. She was a Free and Accepted Eastern Star, serving as Matron. She joined the Heard Wesley Church at an early age. Services were at the Roscoe Jenkins chapel with interment Heard Wesley Baptist Church cemetery, Franklin. Survivors include a son, James W. and Hazel Callaway Sr., Franklin; grandsons, Marcus T. Callaway, Franklin, Kerry L. and Melanie Callaway, Newnan, and James W. Callaway Jr., San Antonio, Texas; a great-grandson, Keith Jackson, Newnan; a brother, Willie B. and Hazel Daniel, Alabama; sisters, Winnie Sue and Willie B. Dunson, and Martha and Claude Long, all of Chattanooga and Louise and Horace Williams, Ann Arbor, Mich., brothers-in-law, C. R. and Lizzie Callaway, John Callaway and Jessie and Henrietta Callaway, all of Newnan, and William and Glenda Callaway, New Jersey; and sisters-in-law, Ollie B. Woods, and Emily M. Phillips, both of Franklin, Polly Ann Echols and Mary Lee Daniel, both of Newnan. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. login to post comments |
