Florence Scott, 97, Newnan, died April 16, 2008. She was born April 6, 1911 in Moreland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Betty Bailey, her husband of 59 years, Tom Scott, children, Eugene Scott and Georgia M. Cox, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four sons-in-law, and 14 siblings. She joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at an early age and served on the Nurse's Guild and Usher Board for many years. She was an active member until her health declined. She was a true fashion icon with exquisite taste and adored the color red. Services were at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include children, Doris Elder, Senoia, Tommy L. and William Clark and Annie B. Brooks, Peachtree City Betty L. Cook, Grantville, and Emma J. Thomas, Newnan; special friends, J. C. Franklin, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, William Knox, Francis Pue, Ella Harris, Margie Johnson, Edith Reynolds and the Rev. Kenneth Bailey; 33 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 42 great-great-grandchildren. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. login to post comments |
