The J.C. Booth Middle School band program had very good results at the first-round auditions for Middle School All-State band this year. The students auditioned on a statewide basis and were judged on merit against all other applicants from across the state. The students who passed their first-round auditions are Diana Massengale, Katie Atkinson, Brandon Smith, Tim Thornburg, Rebekah Anders, Zenia Zheng, Sarah Manley, Matthew Niebes, David Wonderley and Lloyd Anders.

The first-round audition process also resulted in several students making the GMEA 6th District Clinic Band and the District Honor Band. The students invited to clinic band are Katie Atkinson, Diana Massengale, Peter Schmidt, Joseph Waiksnis, Lauren Rollings, Tim Thornburg, Robert Worley, Joey Iacobucci, Daniel Waiksnis, Matthew Niebes, David Wonderley, and Matthew Winn. The students invited to join the Honor Band are Brandon Smith, Sadie Mason, Rebekah Anders, Parker Bachman, Nicholas Yan, Timothy Morris, Zenia Zheng, Sarah Manley, and Lloyd Anders.

The McIntosh High School band program had a record number of band students pass their first-round audition for All-State band this year. The All-State band is organized and run by the Georgia Music Educators Association and allows the selected students an opportunity to work with other students of equal caliber under the direction of highly qualified conductors. Each student auditions on a statewide basis and is judged on merit against all other applicants across the state. Selection to All-State is recognition of excellence in musical knowledge, technique, and interpretation.
