Starr’s Mill and Whitewater girls soccer teams make AAAA Elite EightThu, 05/01/2008 - 12:25pm

The Starr’s Mill Lady Panthers got two goals from Carlie Banks and one from Laura McCalla to defeat Lakeside, Evans 3-1 on Wednesday night. “We played really well in the second half,” said head coach Deanise Myers. The team we played was very physical, but we stuck to our style of play and controlled the flow of the game.” The win puts Starr’s Mill in the state quarterfinals. They will take on Salem on the road on Saturday at 5 p.m. Whitewater’s Lady Wildcats got a hat trick from Erin Emerson to beat Lee County 3-2 on Wednesday. Assisting on the goals were Lacey McGowan and Jewelia Strickland. The win puts Whitewater in a quarterfinal match at St. Pius on Saturday at 6 p.m. login to post comments |
