Julia Castiglione Palmer, 89, Palm City, Fla., died April 20, 2008. She was born in New York City. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Anthony F. Palmer, her parents, Emilia DiSpignia and Carlo Castiglione, brothers, Vito Castiglione, and James Castiglione, and a sister, Pauline Valentino. She spent many hours volunteering as an usher and in the Reading Room at First Church of Christ Scientist in Stuart, Fla. As per her wishes, no service was held. The family will celebrate her life at a later date. Survivors include sons, Anthony Christine Palmer, Heath, Texas, and Paul and Violet Palmer, Biltmore Lake, N.C.; daughters, Cathy and Jerry Brown, Plano, Texas, and Amy and Ben Leuenberger, Peachtree City; a brother, Philip Castiglione, Bayside, N.Y.; a sister, Frances Varrone, Babylon, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Southwest Christian Care Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291, or First Church of Christ Scientist, 515 E. Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL 34994.
