Annabelle Tait “Skippy” Luiz

Annabelle Tait “Skippy” Luiz, 86, Griffin, died Jan. 4, 2004. She was born Sept. 12, 1919 in Old Towne, Maine, the youngest of four children born to Harry and Belle Tait. She spent her youth in Manchester, N. H. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Luiz, whom she married Jan. 14, 1942, and a sister, Harriet Robie, Dunnellon, Fla. Early in life she was a semi-professional radio singer. She enjoyed creating folk art, country crafts, and cooking.

Memorial services were held at the McKoon chapel. A private interment service will be in the Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Alabama.

Survivors include a brother, Carl Tait, Pine Mountain, Ga.; a sister, Marie Janvrin, Methuen, Maine; sons, Albert H. and Gale Luiz, Rockwall, Texas, and Steven and Elaine Luiz, Newnan; a daughter, Barbara and Conrad Harris, Brooks; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
