Throughout the month of January, Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s Rehabilitation and Fitness Center is waiving its $50 initiation fee for new members. The Rehabilitation and Fitness Center offers a variety of healthy-living resources for Fayette residents to start living a healthier and happier life.

New members receive a free fitness assessment and customized program to help them reach their fitness goals. New members will find out what areas of fitness to concentrate on, how to exercise safely and monitor progress, and will be taught how to use the fitness center equipment.

“When someone decides he or she wants to get fit, it is sometimes difficult to know where to begin,” said Jill Fenimore, director of Piedmont Fayette Hospital's Rehabilitation and Fitness Center. “We help people of all ages, regardless of their current fitness level, achieve their goals of becoming physically fit.”

Focusing on disease prevention, rehabilitation of injuries and maintenance of optimal health, the Rehabilitation and Fitness Center educates members on fitness and a healthy lifestyle. It also features advanced cardiovascular and strength training programs.

“There is something for everyone here,” said Fenimore. “The New Year is the perfect time for residents to join and experience this great resource the hospital has to offer.”

Piedmont Fayette Hospital, in cooperation with the American Lung Association, also offers a smoking cessation program. Classes are on Mondays, Jan. 23 through Feb. 27, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Conference Room A in the 1279 Building. Register with Link2Health by calling 1-866-900-4321.

Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s Rehabilitation and Fitness Center is located across from the main hospital in the Fayette Professional Center. For more information, call 770-719-7290 or visit www.fayettehospital.org.
