Lucile Davis McKoy, 86, Newnan, died April 16,2008. She was born March 25, 1922, the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Ruth Pritchett Davis, four siblings, and her husband, Luther Fred McKoy Sr., who died in 1976. She had worked with the postal service, and had owned her own restaurant at the Heart of Newnan Motel in downtown Newnan. It is now the site of the Newnan City Hall. She had also worked for a friend at his restaurant, Cannon's, which was a popular gathering place on Greenville Street. She was a member of Newnan First Baptist Church.

Services were at the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lee Ayers officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include her children, Olivia McKoy Grubbs, Lisa McKoy Lashley, and Fred McKoy Jr., all of Newnan, and Emil Boyd Askew, Dawson; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
