County should save siren for tornadoes

I must agree with the opinion of the writer who believes there should be limits constructed and reported for the use of the [county’s] emergency weather signal.

I grew up with such an alarm system, and it was only used for the most potentially destructive tornadoe or funnel cloud presence as reported to officials. Also, the verbal report is not comprehensible when hail and rain are pounding on your home and the windows closed.

Anyone outdoors need only look at the sky, hear the thunder, feel the wind or atmosphere change to know it is sensible to move indoors or safety.

Generally, hail preceeds violent winds or tornadoes.

It has been expressed with other opinions that crying wolf only leads to an absence of attention.
