Fayette County will observe the National Day of Prayer with millions of others around the nation on Thursday, May 1, with a daytime prayer walk and evening worship celebration beginning at 7 p.m. at the Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville.

Leading the praise and worship will be Operation Mobilization’s Bill Drake Band. The theme is “If My People Pray.”

The Prayer Walk is being organized and manned by volunteers from many churches in the Southern Crescent area.

“It is our hope and prayer that the Lord will raise up a host of prayer warriors to participate in the Southern Crescent Prayer Walk,” event coordinator Barbara Swafford said. “This is an unprecedented call for God’s people to literally cover the land in prayer and till the soil for harvest and restoration.”
