Donations needed for SFM’s May 16-17 yard sale at FFUMCTue, 04/22/2008 - 1:47pm
By: The Citizen
Square Foot Ministry (SFM), the local non-profit organization, is seeking donations for its annual yard sale, coming up the weekend of May 16-17. The yard sale will be in the parking lot and Family Life Center of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Things needed for the sale include large items, such as usable furniture and working appliances, as well as household goods such as sheets, towels, and curtains. Computers cannot be accepted unless they are in working order and both the computer and the monitor must be included. To make tax-deductible donations, contact Judy Reynolds, committee chairperson, 770-461-8529, to arrange for a pick-up. SFM uses all proceeds from the annual yard sale to purchase building supplies for the annual “Blitz Build” and other projects conducted throughout the year. All SFM projects are funded through donations from businesses, churches, and individuals. Volunteers from local area churches perform all work on the projects except for plumbing and electrical, which must be done by qualified personnel. Upcoming projects, in addition to the Blitz Build, include a Memorial Day weekend project in West Point, Impact ‘08, and more trips to Pass Christian Miss.
