Local author to speak at Brooks women’s event
All ladies of the community are invited to Brooks United Methodist’s Women’s Coffeehouse on Friday, April 25, from 9 - 10 a.m. Tammy B. Melton, author of “Loving God With All Five Senses,” will be the guest speaker. Fair Trade Coffee and refreshments will be served and music will be provided by Jacob Winslett. Brooks UMC is at the corner of Ga. 85 Connector and Morgan Mill Road in Brooks, three miles south of Starr’s Mill. Call the church office, 770-719-7593, for more information.

Holly Grove Men, other men’s choruses to perform
Holly Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church will celebrate its Men’s Chorus Anniversary with a special service on Saturday, April 26, at 6 p.m. The event will include selections by the Holly Grove Men’s Chorus as well as a number of visiting men’s choruses. Holly Grove AME Church is in Peachtree City at 400 Holly Grove Church Road, just off the southern end of Robinson Road. Look for the white fence, the historical marker, and the church sign.

North Fayette UMC plans Spring Fling
North Fayette United Methodist Church will host its annual Spring Fling Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The event will include a churchwide yard sale, drive-in bike show, book sale and bake sale. A barbecue chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Local author Ken Babcock, a World War II hump pilot, will be on hand for conversation and to autograph his book, “A Pilot’s Life.” Children’s activities include storytellers at 10:30 and noon. All proceeds go to missions.

Lisa Smith to sign books at Barnes & Noble
Local author Lisa Smith will be on hand to sign copies of her book, “Thoughts of a Daydreamer,” Saturday, April 26, from 9-11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble in Fayetteville. The book is a collection of original poetry full of “ ... humor, love and Christian life experiences.”

Antioch plans pancake breakfast
Antioch Community Baptist Church, 110 Brooks-Woolsey Rd., Fayetteville, will have a pancake breakfast Saturday, April 26, from 8-11:30 a.m. The cost will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 12. All proceeds will go to the children’s ministry.

Inman plans ceremony to bless the animals

Former Muslim couple to speak at Hopewell
Hopewell UMC on Jenkins Road in Tyrone will host best selling author, Mina Nevisa, and her husband, Pastor Jamal, Sunday, April 27 at the 11 a.m. service. Ms. Nevisa’s biography, Miracle of Miracles, traces their conversions from radical Iranian Islamic families to Christianity. They were pursued by Muslim authorities across the Middle East and Europe for over 15 years. Copies of Miracle of Miracles will be available for purchase at $12 per copy. Lee Ann Hammonds to appear at Inman
Lee Ann Hammonds, described as a “musicianary,” will sing and give her testimony at Inman United Methodist Church Sunday, April 27, at the 6 p.m. service. For additional information, call the church, 770-461-2123.

Ladies Day planned at PTC Church of Christ
Janie Craun, the editor of Christian Woman Magazine, will speak on “Growing Up Into Christ” Saturday, May 3, at the Peachtree City Church of Christ. Ladies will explore how they can plant seeds of faith in children’s hearts and develop spiritual maturity in women. The event begins at 9 a.m. with registration and will conclude with lunch at noon. FFUMC women plan ‘tea party’ May 17
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church invites all ladies, high school and up, to a tea party on Saturday, May 17, from 2-4 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. “Treasured by God” will present inspirational speaker Sherri Dodd, desserts and tea for all. Tickets are $12 each until May 7. Buy two tickets before April 26 and receive one ticket free. Grantville Senior Center to host gospel singing
The Grantville Senior Center, 123 LaGrange St., Grantville (Coweta County), will present a night of old fashioned southern gospel singing Saturday, April 27, beginning at 7 p.m. The event will feature Jimmy Norred of Hogansville, Uncle Dan Burdett of Grantville, and the Godin family from Phenix City, Ala.
