Marjorie Brook Fairchild, 84, Brooks, formerly of College Park, died March 28, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Walter H. Fairchild Sr., of Binghamton, N.Y., and sisters, Imogene Brook White, Conyers, and Mitzi Brook Moody, Tyrone. She was a group chief operator for BellSouth with over 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of East Point. She enjoyed flowers blooming, birds singing, and children laughing. Services were at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home chapel with interment at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include a son, Walter Fairchild, Dawsonville; daughters, Karen Childs and Stephen House, Senoia, and Kathy Fairchild Warden, Brooks; a brother, Ralph W. Brook, Villa Rica; and a sister, Judy "Jewel" Fulton Johnson, East Point; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six nephews; and four nieces. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
