At Crossroads Christian School, it’s more than A-B-C’s and 1-2-3’s. Each class at Crossroads chooses two service projects per school year to express love & gratitude toward others in the community and to foster an attitude of Christian service in the students. The sixth graders spent their Spring Service Day cleaning the grounds at Tyrone First Baptist Church where the school will be located beginning August of 2008.

Some of the other projects this year have included a school wide bake sale in which the first graders raised $100 for an orphanage in Haiti, the fourth graders visited residents at Christian City, while the seventh graders cleaned up the grounds of the local YMCA. Administrator Marcie Saporsky reported, “Service toward others is one of the Biblical character qualities taught, modeled, and encouraged at Crossroads. In a culture where putting oneself first is the norm, parents and educators must be intentional if children are to learn to consider others as more important than themselves.” Crossroads offers grades 1 - 8 and is currently accepting applications. 770-487-0677 www.crossroadschool.org.
