If you are a NASCAR fan, or you just like music, karaoke and comedy, mark your calendar for the evening of April 18. Rutledge Wood, on-air NASCAR personality for Speed TV, will host Rutstock 2k8, a giant birthday celebration at Alamo Jack's at 19 W. Court Square in downtown Newnan. Rutledge came up with the idea of holding his birthday bash as a benefit for a kids' camp that is near and dear to his heart.

The Victory Junction Gang Camp, located in Randleman, North Carolina, provides safe and fun camping experiences for children with chronic medical conditions and serious illnesses. It is a member of the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps, founded by actor Paul Newman. Victory Junction was founded in 1999 by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie in memory of their son Adam. It is a favorite charity of many pro drivers.

Proceeds from the April 18th party will go to Victory Junction Gang Camp. There is a $5 admission fee at the door plus t-shirts for sale, and additional opportunities to donate to the camp. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the party starts at 9 p.m. Because of the venue, attendees must be 21 or older. Entertainment will be live music, professional karaoke, skits, and maybe some surprise guests. Rutledge is known as "The King of Karaoke" to his Newnan fans, and he and his friends will put on a great show for a great cause. For more information, contact Alamo Jack's at 770-683-2683.
