Cap color guard and drill team

Cadets from the Peachtree City – Falcon Field Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, recently participated in the Georgia Wing Drill Team and Color Guard Competition held at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, GA. The cadets competed in several rigorous team and individual events against squadrons and other cadets from across the state. These events included written examinations and physical fitness challenges as well as judged group drill and color guard competitions.

The Peachtree City – Falcon Field Color Guard placed second overall in the competition. The color guard has been very active over the past year. Most recently, they made a performance at the Georgia CAP Wing Conference in Augusta, GA. The color guard will participate in the upcoming Senoia Memorial Day Parade.

The Peachtree City – Falcon Field Drill Team placed first in the state competition. They will represent the Georgia Wing in the upcoming South East Region Drill Team Competition to be held at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa, FL.

Cadet Brian Tignor received the coveted Knowledge of Excellence Award for achieving the highest score on a written exam of Civil Air Patrol knowledge. Cadet Tignor is the son of Malcolm and Sonya Tignor, and is a student at East Coweta High School. Cadet Killian Moroney was awarded the Fleetfoot Award for being the fastest male cadet in the competition. Cadet Moroney is the son of Kevin and Erin Moroney and is a student at Starr's Mill High School .

The U.S. Civil Air Patrol is the official U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. CAP Cadet Programs offer youth ages 12-18 opportunities to develop leadership skills, investigate the fundamentals of aerospace science, acquire the habit of exercising regularly, solidify their character, and participate in exciting hands-on activities that prepare them to become responsible citizens.
